Is the walkthrough actually free?
Yes — the walkthrough itself, completely. The onboarding packet ($397) is a separate, later decision, and this page isn't a bait-and-switch for it.

What format is the walkthrough, and when do I get it?
The format is being finalized. You'll get one email when it's ready, with everything you need to start, then occasional updates you can leave anytime.
What does the walkthrough cover?
Idaho's own independent-provider enrollment process, in the state's order: the background check (it has to clear before the application); current CPR and First Aid; general liability insurance; your NPI; the Trading Partner Account and Medicaid application, with the provider agreement, W-9 and EFT agreement; your degree, hours and competency proof for the Children's DD program; and Telligen registration. Then the three approvals you need before you can see clients.
What's the difference between general liability and professional liability insurance for an Idaho Medicaid provider?
They're different policies, and they aren't interchangeable. Idaho requires independent CHIS providers to carry general liability insurance, and the state's enrollment instructions say plainly that professional liability does not meet that requirement. General liability covers injury to people or damage to property; professional liability covers mistakes in the advice or services you give. Proof of the general liability policy is uploaded with your Medicaid application.
Is the walkthrough current with the state's process?
The state's own instructions get revised periodically. The walkthrough shows its last-updated date and gets updated when the process changes.
Should I read this before I decide whether to leave my agency?
Yes. That's what it's for — walking through the whole process once, in order, with someone who's already registered, before you decide whether going independent is right for you.
